Well, let's just start this off right - great concert, and awesome times!
Unwoman came to my school today (at the suggestion of Verbalpowers), and well, it was most excellent. Technical fun times happened - from the mixer being locked, to the speaker we found turning out to actually be a subwoofer. Go figure, right? Anyway, the concert was mostly aca-cello; the entire first half was straight off of Casualties (and let to many many people rushing to the merchandise stand to get their copy. After the intermission, there was a little more Casualties, some covers, and to finish off the night, "A tribute to GOTH!" - in other words, Bad Romance.
Not to mention the belly-dancing routine (and then improved dance with a sword, balanced on the top of her head) by another one of Verbalpower's friends. Thea Lawson opened with some (awesome) poetry - and then proceeded to help out throughout the entire show.
And then, we all stood around and talked for a while; I got an autographed poster, and one of those phallic thumb-drives. And then, when it was all said and done, we marched back to the Uncar while doing the ooooOOOOooo's from Haunted.
Needless to say it was a great night. Hats off to Unwoman, Thea and Laura for putting on what was, frankly, one of the best shows I've seen in a while. And hats off to everyone who helped behind the scenes - it took all of you to make this as excellent as it was.
Can't wait for the next time she's in town!
