What movies have haunted you two, three days after watching them?
It's a rare occurrence for me but there have definitely been movies that I don't think will ever leave my psyche.
The first one I would mention would be Dancer in the Dark. I was pretty emotional for about a week after watching it for the first time, and every subsequent time. Bjork is just fabulous in it and it really is just a masterpeice of film making.
The second is disturbing for a different reason. Upon hearing a friend of mine talking about a film called "The Human Centipede" I couldn't sleep right for about four days. For those of you who don't know about it, it is about a doctor in Germany who kidnaps three tourists. Two American girls and one Japanese man.
He operates on them - doing such things as, cutting the tendons in their knee-caps so they can only crawl. Removing their teeth, and sewing their mouth to the anus of the person in front of them.
In essence he creates a Human Centipede (though a short one) with the Japanese man as the "head", and the two american girls as the mid-section and the "tail". The only way the two girls can get nourishment and get hydrated is to eat the...waste mateiral of the person infront of them.
So the Japanese man eats, the girl in the middle is forced to eat that, and the girl at the end is forced to eat the waste of the mid-section.
Admittedly, my imagination really ran wild once I heard about this idea and the movie was not half as disturbing as what I had made out in my mind.
Though it's still a disturbing notion. Power of the mind, huh?
